We at For Those In Pain, Inc. are, by means of leadership, creativity, and dogged determination, calling upon others to rethink fresh approaches to a problem that has been with us since the dawn of man… and always will be. It is, of course, the problem of pain.

We are building a dynamic organization that assists the San Francisco Bay Area in appropriately responding to the problem of pain. We view our organization as a pilot program… one that is worth replicating in other large urban centers across the country. Our Board of Directors, our Executive Director, and our volunteers labor to produce something really special…

We invite you to join our team of investors: that is to say, our team of contributors, those who choose to invest in lives either instead of or, in addition to, stocks and bonds.
Join our team, help us labor to …

1) Assist and call upon those patients who suffer from significant ongoing pain to both pursue and embrace “apprenticeship” toward patient-initiated problem solving, self-management, and effective coping. We deliver our services to patients with great emphasis on the “intangibles” of pain management: courage, resilience, motivation, patience, community.

2) Assist and call upon providers to be the best pain practitioners then can be; always balancing the delivery of clinical knowledge with compassion and a spirit of non-judgmentalism. We call upon them to place high value upon making early referrals to community-based opportunities for training & support.

3) Assist and call upon employers in our community to seek out a point of compassion for those who attempt to work while experiencing significant ongoing pain and, as well, to challenge themselves to learn about & carefully think through the psychological, social, and supervisory components of protracted pain and disability in the workplace.

4) Assist and call upon health-care institutions to do more for those experiencing chronic pain, to make a stand for the chronic pain patient regardless of profitability in doing so.

5)
Assist & call upon the media to write about or speak out on behalf of those in pain. It is our social responsibility to call attention to resources that can help alleviate the suffering of others.

We invite you, as well, to join our team of contributors so that we may carry forward our long standing commitment to planning / developing / writing creative training materials for both patient and provider. In this fast pace world of burden upon both, we are pleased to serve by the filling the void of this unique and special niche. Our goal is to continue to present these materials not only to the San Francisco Bay Area, but to the world via the internet and, across time, in many languages.

Our financial policy is such that no one is turned away for lack of ability to pay, (we do not accept third party payment). It is this policy which allows us to serve those whose lives have been disintegrated by the problem of pain. As such, we cannot do this alone.

In summary, we boldly invite you to partner with us as we fight the good fight to execute a quiet yet powerful social movement.... It is a movement that encourages, guides, motivates people and organizations to face the problem of pain head on: with grace, knowledge, and power.

We cherish any size of gift. Whether you donate $10. or $1000. or $10,000, we are grateful for each… always being mindful of th
